Some people will say they did not cross the border the border crossed them. They are refering to the territory the US took from Mexico at the end of the Mexican War in 1848. The people had a choice, become American citizens or not. Those who did become citizens their children and descendants were American. Any of those who kept Mexican citizenship and had children here, those children and all their descendants were born American citizens. There is not one person alive in California or any other border state who can honestly and legally claim the border crossed them.

I am part Cherokee. So I do have a claim to stay in the country, but the American Indian tribes did not pop out of the earth in their present locations even if their creation myths say they did. Kennewick man found in Washington state is at least 8 or 9 thousand years old. His skull resembles the aborigines of Japan called the Ainu and was not an American Indian.
There was a huge amount of bloody conquest of new territory and pushing other tribes off the land they had lived on for generations. Europeans just continued what had already been going on in North America for thousands of years.
Let anyone who wants an honest job come to America, but do it legally. The Canadians wouldn't like it if I snuck across their border and it is reported that Mexican border guards beat and even kill Guatemalans and Salvadorans that get caught sneaking across their border.

Congratulations on voting. The first time I voted it was for the purpose of disassociating myself from the organization. It was 1984 and I voted for Walter Mondale for US President and Geraldene Ferraro for Vice-President. (People who say the US is not ready for a woman president do not know what they are talking about)
The Elders came to my door and asked if I could write a letter disassociating myself. I asked if my voting wasn't enough because I will not give the Watchtower anything in writing. They said I was correct and left. I was reinstated a year later and tried to be a good Witness for the next five years.
I have never missed an election since 1990 when I finally realized the Watchtower was not the truth and left for good.

I would ask a Witness, If you were stranded on a deserted island for many years with just the bible and no Watchtower publications, would your faith be acceptable to God?
Most Witnesses would say yes. I would then ask, If God would accept your faith from reading the bible alone on an island, why wouldn't God accept a persons faith from reading the bible alone anywhere?

They are afraid of dissent and critical thinking.
The Watchtower does not forbid Jehovah's Witnesses to dissent or read criticism as a way to protect the faith of believers, they do so because Warchtower theology is a house of cards that will fall at the tiniest bit of logical thinking.

They are saying yes when they mean no.
The many they are refering to have seen the error of their ways and become Witnesses in good standing, not just honest hearted believers in Christ who decide not to become Jehovah's Witnesses. Those resurrected from the dead will only remain alive if they become Witnesses in good standing. If they do not, Jehovah will kill them a second time with no hope of resurrection.
The Watchtower Society employs a lot of misdirection and plausible deniability. They refer to it as Theocratic Warfare. Jehovah's Witnesses are too afraid to say exactly what they mean.

If God existed I would tell him, her, it to go away. I have no need of a supernatural being to tell me what is right or wrong. If the Bible says I am a fool, so what? The Bible is a book of fairy tales. And that scripture is just one more place where the Bible is wrong.

I was a true believer and really thought I was saving lives. It would be hard to knock on the first couple of doors, but as I would engage in conversation about the bilbe and hope of everlasting life I got such a rush. I became totally consumed in logical arguement and felt fantastic.
Since I am no longer a believer in God I get the same high talking politics today. I love every minute of it.
